Extending Cuspidor's mining industry
After so long away I was looking for a gentle slide back in, so to speak. At the back of my mountain, facing my workbench I have a bit of wall, just some wooden boarding that is used for hanging stuff against. I decided to bring it into the layout by modelling a small portion of mine interior and insetting it into the wall. I'd worked up a rough plan of something similar several years ago and dug it out.I made up a mine shaped box using strips of lath from an old wooden venetian blind.........

Modified box with rock walls drying nicely |
The rock is my homemade Sculptamold, just patching plaster mixed with shredded cardboard
Very creative work on the mine and shaft! Same with the mine track. Keep it going Sir Barry!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sir Neal I'm on it right now.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Barry!!! Great to see the Cuspidor & Southern again and be able to follow along with your projects.
ReplyDeleteCheers Sir John, nice to be back and it's taking my mind of a collapsing knee so even more of a bonus!
ReplyDeleteInteresting, as ever, Barry. Mine and its rails.
ReplyDeleteThanks Graham, the rails have been a pain in the neck, both making and fitting them and are not intended to be closely scrutinised!! Sometimes an impression will do, especially as I plan more diverting accessorising when it is time to properly set dress it. Trying to find time for this between remodelling my bathroom so it may take a few more days. Cheers
